About

Production AI engineer, consultant, and coach.

I help engineering teams design, evaluate, and ship production AI systems. That includes Claude Code workflows, AI agent architecture, evals, observability, and the codebase changes that make AI useful instead of noisy.

My background is 15+ years of production software, including FDA-cleared medical device software, scaling an engineering team from 0 to 50+ as CTO, and current hands-on work as a senior engineer at August Health, the AI-enabled platform for better care and operations in senior living communities.

What I'm Known For

Production AI Engineering

Turning AI features from demos into production systems with clear failure modes, measurable behavior, and real operating constraints.

AI Agent Architecture

Memory systems, tool orchestration, governance, evals, and the structural decisions that make agents reliable.

Claude Code Workflows

Practical Claude Code setup, context management, MCP servers, team rollouts, and workflows grounded in daily use.

High-Stakes Software

I work comfortably in environments where correctness, auditability, and operational discipline matter.

Background

I've spent most of my career building software under real constraints: deadlines, regulated environments, production incidents, team growth, and the usual mismatch between how systems are supposed to work and how they actually behave.

I was CTO at Buoy Software, where I helped grow the engineering team from 0 to 50+ and shipped FDA-cleared medical device software. Today I'm a Senior Software Engineer at August Health, working on an AI-enabled platform for better care and operations in senior living communities while also building AI products and teaching what I learn in public.

That combination matters. A lot of AI advice is either theoretically smart or practically battle-tested. I care about the second category.

What I'm Doing Now

  • Writing about production AI engineering, Claude Code, and AI agent architecture
  • Publishing weekly videos on real workflows, failures, and patterns that hold up in practice
  • Advising teams shipping AI features into production through Foundation Sprints and retainers
  • Coaching engineers, founders, and leaders working through architecture and workflow decisions

Working on something in production?

If your team is past the demo stage and the constraints are getting real, book an intro call. I'll tell you honestly whether I can help.
